We were one of the UK’s first online Will providers, launching in 2002 - just after the turn of the millennium, when making a Will online was a brand-new idea. Today we are the UK’s most established online Will provider.

Many online Will services have come and gone since then. We have not only survived but flourished, for one simple reason: we have earned our Customers’ trust by consistently providing an excellent, professional service.

Perhaps the best measure of that trust is that so many of our new Customers come to us on the recommendation of family and friends who have used our service themselves.

Who We Are

This website has been owned and run since its inception in 2002 by Portology Limited - a company based in the south of England.

Portology Ltd. has among its directors and staff appropriately qualified Solicitors and Professional Willwriters. We have been Associate Members of the Society of Willwriters since 2005.

We have been profitable in every single year since we started trading. We make no apologies for this, because it means that we - and your online Will/LPA details - are a permanent fixture.

Professional Design & Focus

The website was designed by, and with input from, a team of Solicitors, Professionally-qualified Willwriters and Web Professionals - all of whom have been involved in its continual development ever since.

Unlike many other companies, for whom online Willwriting is a sideline, our entire business is focused on our online Willwriting and Estate Planning websites - which are used by many large UK employers, numerous Independent Financial Advisers, numerous Charities, and the general public.

Professional Support

We do not use ‘bots’: all communications sent by us are written by real professionally-qualified people.

We are UK-based, and can be contacted via the ‘Contact’ page at this website. We will respond within one working day - our average response time is under 2 hours.

We also check every single document purchased - and every Will is checked twice: once straight after purchase, and again once you’ve signed it and had it witnessed. We commit to carrying out the first check within 2 working days, but in practice well over 90% of documents purchased are checked and responded to the same day - weekday or weekend.

Open and Honest

We do not rest on our laurels, and are continually seeking to improve our service. To that end, every complaint or suggestion a Customer sends us about our service is copied to our CEO.

Our Customers review our service independently on Trustpilot, where every review is openly published.

Before that, from October 2013, we asked our Customers to submit feedback to the Independent Customer Satisfaction Feedback Company eKomi - almost 2,000 of those reviews remain openly published and can be read here.

Professional Protection

To date, from the hundreds of thousands of legal documents that have been generated using our website, not one, to our knowledge, has had its wording legally challenged.

Nevertheless, we take the protection of our Customers seriously, and to that end we carry £2.5 million of Professional Indemnity Insurance.
